8:45 that is the time, when a child must be present at school. Each class has a form tutor, who checks a presence. He marks the register ( a list of students` names ).
Assembly is a short meeting. It takes normally about 15 minutes. Assembly provided the headmaster. He has an opportunity to say some important things about life of the school ( discipline problems… ). Some pupils, who are believers, sing hymns, say prayers or listen reading from Bible.
At 9:15 lessons begin. A lesson lasts about 55 minutes. There are two lessons before break ( from 11:05 to 12:25 ). During this time pupils can buy sweets or go outside and spend time in the playground. They can also eat lunch in a school canteen. Children of parents on low income get free school meal.
The school ends at about 3:15 hours. But some pupils go into clubs or participate ( účastní se ) extra sport activities ( football, rugby… ). There no lessons on Saturday.
