British society is still strongly divided into classes.The aristocracy:There are over 1000 people with hereditary title "Lord".They have the right to sit in the House of Lords.The upper classes are usually rich.They are landowners, business people and professionals.They speak with particular accent and they send their childrens to private schools.The middle classes are mostly professional people and often work in offices.They own house and take holidays abroad.The working classes work in factories and construction businesses.There is high rate of unemployment.People often live in rented flats and speak with regional accent.The British dream of living is in beautiful countryside.For hundreds of years rich people have built comfortable and elegant country houses.Every small suburban British house has lawn and garden.People sit there on nice summer days.But the British city streets are often dirty.There is litter in streets anywhere.The British like tea very much.Average Briton drinks about 4 cups of tea a day.The British love animals.There is a Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(RSPCA).The British are polite(with exception of football matches).British prefer to queue.They don´t try to jump the queue.The British police are wonderful(they help if you don´t know the way, they are friendly, helpful and polite).They are called "bobby" because Robert Peel establish the first police force and bobby is short for Robert.British always say "Sorry", "Please", "Excuse me".
