Hawaii consist of 132 island in the Pacific Ocean.The main islands are:
Kauai,Maui,Molokai,Niihau,Kahoolawe and Lanai.The islands are volcanic.
The capital is Honolulu.The first Hawaiiens were Polynesians.The islands
were discovered by British captain James Cook in 1778.Today there are
two ethnic groups:Americans and Japanese, who immigrated between the two
World Wars.Hawaii produce many tropical fruits(pineapple...),suger and flowers.
The state flower is hibiscus.To great visitors Hawaiians place wreath of flowers
called lei.Favourite sport is surfing at Wakiki Bay,Sunset or Mahaka beaches,
because there are the highest waves.
CALIFORNIA - the golden state
California has this nick name because there are everything:Pacific coastline
with beaches and mountains,Yosemite National park, Death valley with
the lowest point and the highest temperatures, second longest suspension
bridge - Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco,Sillicon valley with computer
industry.The state motto is Eureka, because gold was found here in 19century.
Many Americans move to the California for better life or they want to be
actors or actresses.Some people say that the state´s main export is hope
and its main import is people.California is on major fault line.There is
about 11,000 earthquakes a year, but most Californians say:"life must go on".
